Pioneer High School Equestrian Team 2005:

District Champions, Regional Champions, and Fourth Place State Champions

Gerry is definitely a very flexible instructor and coach!! (Not bad for 50, eh?!)
Some of our resident horses 2009-10:

Naomi: our "Arabpaloosa" mare. A sweet "in your pocket" barrel racing and trail horse.

Beau's Zetta: our Crabbet Arabian Mare. Zetta has eight years of western and English pleasure (4 of those years on the A Circuit); shown saddle seat, trail, and has NBRA national barrel racing points. Zetta, 21 in April 2010 is the last of the foals Gerry bred and raised. Zetta is semi-retired, being a favorite lesson horse. She is a gentle sweetie, and we love her!

Sargent (a Tenessee Walker), Raiden (a Walker-Pinto), and Reliance (a Walker-Mule). Raiden and Reliance are 2-year olds and best play pals! Owner of Reliance and Sargent is completing her private stables and moving her "boys" home in the spring of 2010. We will miss them (and you better keep in touch!) Raiden's owners, Jen and Konrad have Raiden already performing astonishing feats of obedience and cooperation; preparing the groundwork for his future under saddle through Natural Horsemanship!  Wow!

Sonny (AQHA gelding) and Socks (AQHA mare) Socks' and owner, Suzanne, are accomplished partners through Natural Horsemanship. Socks' willingness in-hand and under saddle is amazing to watch!  Sonny and owner, Stacy, hang with Suzanne and are making leaps and bounds progress with Natural Horsemanship as well!
Manchester Ebony (Morgan gelding) What can NOT be said for this wonderful guy?! Not only does Ebony do everything, he does it well and willingly. He has been ridden and shown English, western,  saddle seat, trail, gymkhana, and he jumps. He is a favorite lesson horse and loves the youngest children (because he likes to walk and doesn't have to go any faster!) Ebony's owner, Le Ann has had Ebony from a weanling and they have been with us since 1998.
(Do you have any Captain in YOUR Morgan?!!)
(Ebony wants to know: Do you have any captain in YOUR Morgan?!!)

MSU Checkmate (nicknamed "Trooper" 'cause he's a "state boy"!) is our Polish Arabian Gelding. Trooper started out in pleasure at MSU and when collected and on the bit he is beautiful... however, we have found his heart, passion, and athleticism is pretty hot in gymkhana! Trooper is a sweetheart in a horse's body: he loves attention and people and summer camps!

Stryker, a Thoroughbred gelding, is a mid-to-late 20-something, previous camp horse with a farther back, background in eventing and arena jumping. At 17.2 hands, Stryker is huge, but excellently kind with children. His owner Emily is a student at the University of Michigan studying hard and keeping busy!

Miracle is a 7yr old Walker mare, owned and ridden by her owner Kathy, (and loved by Gerry's grandson, Ray!) A very sweet and patient gaited mare, Miracle makes trail riding a true venture into communing with nature and relaxation!

                             July 2009

 December 2009

Irish is a 34 year old Thoroughbred gelding. (John Henry could only be so lucky to have looked this good and been this loved...) Irish's owner, Kathleen lives in North Carolina, and we take very good care of her boy! Irish has an extensive background in eventing, dressage, arena jumping, and trail riding. He is all business and delighted when we occasionally put a little lesson rider on his back.

Jada (undetermined, but a suspected Paso Fino cross, mare) is an excellent trail horse ridden by her owner Kathy. Jada has also been successfully shown English in area open horse shows by Kathy's daughter Christine.

First Call is a positively delightful, gaited Kentucky Mountain Horse gelding! Jim says his horse "is a 'pickup truck,' he is not the prettiest or the biggest, but he gets the job done!" First Call is another favorite lesson horse because of his patience and easy to ride lateral gaits. He has been shown English, western, saddle seat, gymkhana, drives and is an excellent trail horse. Jim has done team penning, hunted, and fired rifles from his back. Talk about a solid, dependable horse!

Mariah is an abominably fabulous Halflinger mare. (She has a mane and tail to die for or die over... depending on whether you are grooming her or admiring her!!) Mariah's owner, Torri is a high school student at Saline and is out to the barn frequently to brush out those gorgeous blond locks and go riding.

Norman (a can-he-get-any-cutier Morgan gelding with his debonaire and rakish forelock and mane, cuts quite the image!) Norman's owner, Sherri rides saddle seat and drives the countryside with Norman. Norman is also an excellent trail horse.

Mick is a Morgan gelding owned by world traveler, Jessica! Mick has been ridden and shown saddle seat, western, arena jumping (obviously!) English, and is an excellent trail horse.

Willow, a lovely, 20 year old Thoroughbred mare has a lot of spunk for her age. She and her owner, Ashley, have been partners for nine years. Together they have shown in huntseat, saddle seat, western, gymkhana, dressage, jumping, showmanship, and bareback classes at Spur Open Horse Shows, 4-H, Saline Equestrian Team, Stony Ridge, Haverhill, and Lenawee County shows. (photo taken inside our indoor round pen.)
